We believe that Access to Justice should be equally available to everyone, regardless of their financial circumstances but in practice this does not happen. The situation has been further exacerbated by the introduction of the Legal Aid Sentencing & Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (LASPO) which came into effect in April 2013 where Legal Aid is now no longer available for many areas of law. The Surrey Law Centre is fortunate to have developed strong links with law firms,  Barristers and other Legal Advisors throughout Surrey and part of Sussex and their contribution at our clinics has been considerable. Without our volunteers we would not be able to provide this much needed service to the local community.
Volunteering at the Surrey Law Centre provides an opportunity for you to contribute to an important service for the local community. If you would like to volunteer at any of our clinics or would like some further information please contact Angie Brock our Centre Manager on 0330 088 3947, Monday to Friday between 10 am and 3 pm for a chat. Alternatively you can e-mail her at angelabrock@surreylawcentre.org
